In 2006, the Newfoundland & Labrador Smokers’ Helpline received a Pinnacle Award from The International Association of Business Communicators for excellence in community relations for their Physician Fax Referral Program (CARE). The nomination was submitted by the Lung Association and the Newfoundland & Labrador Medical Association. |

Since November 2002, there have been over 250 individuals from across Newfoundland and Labrador trained in smoking cessation (by the Lung Association) to be facilitators for the "You Can Stop By Starting With Us" Smoking Cessation Group Program.

On May 24th, 2007 the Smokers' Helpline and TotalGroup received two IABC Pinnacle Awards for its Mass Media Campaign - "It's Your Call". One award was for merit in Media Relations for the launch of the campaign and the second was for Excellence in Community Relations for the actual campaign.
